Simple ways to enjoy honey every day
Honey can be used as a sweetener, drizzle, glaze or ingredient across everyday meals. The best way to use it depends on the honey’s flavour, texture and the food you are pairing it with.
Breakfast
Drizzle honey over toast, oats, yoghurt, fruit or pancakes. Darker, more aromatic honeys such as Sidr can stand up well to coffee, tahini, nuts and warm breads.
Drinks
Stir honey into tea, coffee or other drinks according to taste. For a more noticeable honey aroma, allow very hot drinks to cool slightly before adding it.
Cooking and serving
Use honey in salad dressings, marinades, desserts, cheese boards and glazes. Different varieties can bring floral, caramel, herbal or fruity notes, so pairing by flavour is often more useful than following a fixed serving routine.
Storage in the UAE
Keep honey tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and unnecessary heat. Refrigeration is generally not required unless the product label says otherwise.
What if honey crystallizes?
Crystallization is a natural physical process that can occur in many honeys. It does not, by itself, prove purity or adulteration. If you prefer a more liquid texture, gently warm the closed container in warm water and avoid excessive heat.
Choose by product information
When comparing honey, check the declared origin, ingredients, producer or packer, batch information and any product-specific documentation available. See our Trust & Quality and Lab Reports pages for available information.
Food safety: Honey should not be given to infants under 12 months. Follow the label for products containing additional ingredients such as propolis, royal jelly, herbs or fruit.
